The Work Foundation exists to campaign for Good Work. Good Work is where high performance and high quality of working life converge. The UK has too many bad jobs and not enough Good Work. This diminishes our economic and social capital.

Good Work is central to our well being. It is  the way in which individuals can act upon the world with purpose. The route to Good Work is through performance, fairness and voice.

Good Work suggests how productive workplaces and productive work should be shaped. It draws on evidence and learning from practice in great organisations to help shape the future. Good Work helps develop The Work Foundation's thinking. Good Work is why we exist.

Putting Good Work into Practice

At The Work Foundation we have developed a range of strategies to inform and influence decision-makers in all organisations and across Government:

Good Work Organisations

Our Good Work partners have played a key role in demonstrating their committment to Good Work:

  • Tesco's investment and continued support of Underserved Markets (USM)project in local deprived communities
  • The Met Police, working to improve their organisational values & culture.
  • Catalent Pharma Solutions, proving their commitment to meaningful employee engagement.
  • The Children's Society ensuring all their employees have 'dignity at work'.
